How YouSeddit Works

Record Conversation Turns
Conduct interviews using any email client; for optimal provenance, we recommend using encrypted and signed emails (S/MIME or PGP/GnuPG). Step 1: Copy the full source code of the initial email and paste it into the YouSeddit web interface. Step 2: Repeat this for the response email. Step 3: YouSeddit processes each submitted email turn (question/answer). A record of the turn is added to the distributed ledger, cryptographically linked to the previous turn, while the full email context is stored securely off-chain on IPFS. You control the publication date and identify your source. Once public, the quoted material can be purchased via smart contract, preserving provenance and authenticity through to online publication. Our Verification Extension allows any browser to confirm your quotes are accurate, original, and authentic.

Private IPFS Storage
When you receive responses, they're only readable by you. Upload them to IPFS for secure storage — only you can access them with your email private key.

Attest, License & Verify
Each recorded quote (initiator or response) receives a C2PA attestation. This attestation references the quote's own ledger entry and, crucially, the ledger entry of the **immediately preceding quote** in the chain. This allows anyone to verify a quote and trace its context backward through the conversation chain on the ledger. Specific quotes (typically responses) can be licensed via smart contracts.

How does the payment system work?
Youseddit uses smart contracts to handle payments automatically. When a media outlet purchases access to your quote, the payment is processed immediately through the blockchain, with funds transferred directly to your account. The journalist receives nearly all of the payment, with only a small platform fee.
Is my content GDPR compliant?
Yes, YouSeddit was built with privacy in mind. We use off-chain encrypted storage with on-chain hashing to ensure GDPR compliance while maintaining content integrity and verification capabilities.
Do I maintain control over my content?
Absolutely. You set the licensing terms, including whether the quote is exclusive or non-exclusive, the duration of the license, and pricing. You always maintain ownership of your content.
